System
My system consists of aquariums in four different rooms in this setup.
I designed and built the system myself. The system consists of many
different sized large aquariums and different filter systems.
Room 1
- 7 aquariums size: 4 aquariums 130 * 60 * 70 cm / 3 aquariums 110 *
60 * 70 cm = 3570 liters
- filtering: Large central filtering unit (chamber filter) = 550
liters
- filtering over foam material, filter wool and Siporax
- additional filtering in basins with sponge filters air-operated
- water equivalents: Temperature approx. 28 - 30 degrees Celsius, GH 5
- 6, KH 1 - 2, approx. 240 - 280 Microsiemens
Room 2 breeding system
- 13 aquariums size: 8 aquariums 55 * 50 * 50 cm / 2 aquariums 145 *
65 * 70 cm = 2420 liters
- 3 aquariums 110 * 65 * 60 cm = 1287 liters
- filtering breed basin - large central filtering unit = 400 liters
- filtering large basins - in aquariums bonded chamber filters
approx.. 15 % filtering over foam material, filter cotton wool and
Siporax
- additional filtering in breeding basins with sponge filters
- entire system is aerated except central filter breeding basin
Water equivalents: large basins - as with system 1 / breed system pH
5.5 - 6, 150 - 200 Microsiemens
Room 3 raising system
- 22 aquariums size: 1 aquarium 130 * 70 * 80 cm / 1 aquarium 225 * 70
* 80 cm = 1988 liters
- 8 aquariums 100 * 55 * 50 cm / 7 aquariums 65 * 55 * 50 cm = 3451
liters
- 1 aquarium 140 * 55 * 50 cm / 1 aquarium 100 * 55 * 50 cm = 660
liters
- 1 aquarium 200 * 60 * 70 cm / 1 aquarium 150 * 55 * 60 cm = 1252
liters
- 1 aquarium 100 * 45 * 50 cm = 225 liters
- filtering - large Zentalfilter (approx. 3 basin at a central filter)
= 1700 liters filtering over foam material, filter cotton wool and
Siporax addition filtering over foam material air-operated, water
equivalents: same as system 1
Room 4 quarantine system
- 5 aquariums size: 2 aquariums 60 * 50 * 55 cm / 2 aquariums 65 * 50
* 45 cm = 622 liters
- 1 aquarium 80 * 50 * 60 cm = 240 liters
- filtering over electrical Overtop
- filters and sponge filters air-operated, water equivalents: same as
system 1
Report to the system
Water and water change
Approx. 18,000 liters water are to me for the breed and raising my
discus at order disposal approx. 2,000 liters - 3,000 liters water are
changed in my system. All basins are provided and the water changes are
executed automatically with an overflow. I used tap water, which daily
into large tanks with a capacity from 3,000 liters flows. In this tank the
water is filtered 24 hours over an external filter, before it is fed into
the aquariums.
For filling the tanks a house water company is attached and to pressure
pipes goes into all spaces to the large water tanks. The water change is
controlled in these spaces via time switches and single solenoid valves,
so that it is possible to execute a water change at certain times of the
day without a worker being needed.
